Super recogniser

Super recognisers are people with extraordinary good face recognition ability. It is the extreme opposite of prosopagnosia. It is estimated that 1–2% of population are super recognisers who can remember 80% of faces they have seen. Normal people can only remember about 20% of faces. They have proved to be far superior to computer recognition systems. The science behind this is poorly understood but may be related to the fusiform face area part of the brain.

Gemesis

Gemesis Inc., now known as Pure Grown Diamonds, is a privately held company located in New York City. The corporation grows synthetic diamonds using proprietary technology. Gemesis has the world's largest facilities for both the high pressure–high temperature (HPHT) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond production methods. Using these methods, Gemesis has produced high-quality colorless and fancy color diamonds that have been offered for sale at 20–30% lower prices than mined natural diamonds of similar quality (and, from some suppliers, lower prices than that). Gemesis is the principal …

Prosopagnosia
Prosopagnosia

Prosopagnosia, also called face blindness, is a cognitive disorder of face perception in which the ability to recognize familiar faces, including one's own face (self-recognition), is impaired, while other aspects of visual processing (e.g., object discrimination) and intellectual functioning (e.g., decision making) remain intact. The term originally referred to a condition following acute brain damage (acquired prosopagnosia), but a congenital or developmental form of the disorder also exists, which may affect up to 2.5% of the United States population. The specific brain area usually associa…

Synthetic diamond
Synthetic diamond

A synthetic diamond (also known as an artificial diamond, cultured diamond, or cultivated diamond) is diamond produced in an artificial process, as opposed to natural diamonds, which are created by geological processes. Synthetic diamond is also widely known as HPHT diamond or CVD diamond after the two common production methods (referring to the high-pressure high-temperature and chemical vapor deposition crystal formation methods, respectively). While the term synthetic is associated by consumers with imitation products, artificial diamonds are made of the same material (pure carbon, crystall…
